University of Auckland invites
applications for summer research scholarships. The purposes of
Summer Research Scholarships are to give university students experience in
research, to encourage them to pursue postgraduate study, and to support staff
research.
Students are expected to conduct a research project of approximately 10 weeks duration (400 hours) under the supervision of an academic staff member. The value of each scholarship is $5,000. The University has identified the following priority groups from whom applications are particularly encouraged: Maori students, Pacific students, students from other universities in New Zealand, international students.

Eligibility
This is a
general guideline for eligibility for a Summer Research Scholarship. You will
need to check the Summer Research Scholarships Regulations for the faculty that
is offering your project of interest.
Those eligible
· Have completed
at least two years of an undergraduate degree OR are enrolled in an Honours or
Postgraduate Diploma programme (some faculties – check the regulations).
· Are currently
enrolled at a New Zealand university or, for international applicants, have
been enrolled in study in this calendar year.
· Have a
Scholarship GPA of 6.00 or above over their two most recent full-time
equivalent years of study (refer to faculty-specific criteria in the
regulations).
· Have
identified a clearly defined project and suitable supervisor willing to
supervise the project. For all faculties (except NICAI) refer to your
faculty’s list of available projects:
