Eligibility:
1. Hold a tenured position as an academic staff member, Research Officer or Scientific Assistant of the University of Colombo 2. Have a strong recommendation from the Supervisor 3. Register for a PhD degree with the University of Colombo

Scholarship Description: University of Colombo announces the availability of funds for research, as part of its plans to inculcate research culture amongst staff/students and to upscale the high quality / impact research, which in turn would improve the institutional grading in the global university ranking system. The objectives of providing these funds are to increase the number of doctoral-level degrees (PhDs) produced by the institute, increase the number of scientific publications made in indexed journals and enhance the impact of research on issues that are relevant to national development hence the applicants are requested to make maximum utilization of the grants that are available with the University of Colombo. Eligibility information: 1. Collaborative research grant proposals: Senior or Mid-career academics 2. Scholarships or Fellowships : Academics, Research officers and Scientific Assistants in the permanent cadre of the university
