Norwegian Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship for Norwegian Students, 2012 UK

The purpose of the scholarship is to promote Anglo-American Relations. It is offered to one student currently studying in the United States, who wishes to undertake any of the University’s four study abroad strands including Pre-Medical, Arts and Social Sciences, Agriculture and Engineering and Business and Finance.

The scholarship is offered for one year and worth £3,000 or £1,500 for students who are studying at Newcastle University for one semester only. The scholarship will be payable towards living expenses.

Scholarship winners will be invited to attend the University’s Annual Donor Scholarship Event in May 2013.

The deadline for applicants applying for the full academic year or semester one only is 1st June 2012. The deadline for applicants applying for semester two only is 31st October 2012.

US Friends Student Scholarship

The US friends scholarship is offered, through competitive application, to up to 3 US students undertaking any of the University’s four Study Abroad strands, these include: Pre-medical; Arts and social Sciences; Agriculture and Engineering; Business and finance.

The Scholarship is offered for one year and is worth $2,000 and will be payable towards living expenses.

Scholarship winners will be invited to attend the University’s Annual Donor Scholarship Event in May 2013.

Norwegian Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship

The Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship is a merit-based award intended for Norwegian undergraduate and graduate students who will study abroad at Newcastle University.

Alumnus Peter Smedvig is the founding benefactor to the Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship who not only gave the first donation to the fund, but pledged to match any further donations made by his fellow alumni to the Fund. As a Gateway to Newcastle Scholar students will join many notable graduates who have gone on to be leaders in their field.

The value of this scholarship is £2,000 for a student who is studying at Newcastle University for a full year or £1,000 for a semester.  The scholarship will be payable towards living expenses.

Canadian Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship
The Canadian Gateway to Newcastle Scholarships are offered each year through competitive application, to students undertaking any of the University’s four Study Abroad strands, these include: Pre-medical; Arts and social Sciences; Agriculture and Engineering; Business and finance.

Each Scholarship is offered for a semester and is worth £1,500 and will be payable towards living expenses.

Scholarship winners will be invited to attend the University’s Annual Donor Scholarship Event in May 2013.

The Canadian Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship is made possible through annual donations towards from our graduates based in Canada. The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide students from Canada with the opportunity to experience life abroad while gaining credits towards a degree in Canada. Our alumni know that overseas study provides a great opportunity for students to broaden their minds and enhance their University experience.
