Background
- To stimulate industrial design capability among the country’s most able science and engineering graduates.
- About eight Industrial Design Studentships are offered each year for outstanding engineering or science graduates who wish to develop their capabilities in industrial design and who aspire to becoming leading designers in British industry.
Eligibility
- Resident in the UK.
- Intending to make a career in British Industry.
- Good first degree in engineering or science.
- Must have obtained admission to a suitable Industrial Design postgraduate course normally in the UK.
- Normally recently graduated.
Benefits
- All tuition fees, up to the normal UK course level for UK students. (We do not pay ELQ top-up fees).
- Stipend of £10,000 pa.
- Allowance of £850 pa for materials.
- Some travel expenses may be paid.
- Duration is one year. A second year will be supported if the course demands it and the first year has been satisfactorily completed.
Requirements
- All applications must be submitted by e-mail on the downloadable Application Form [Word doc] and must be accompanied by:
- A CV which gives details of past work experience;
- A statement and evidence of interest and expectations in industrial design, including the intention of making a career in British Industry;
- Evidence of acceptance for the intended course.
- Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held in June 2012.
