We are looking for a
Research Assistant (part-time or full-time) to work on a project funded by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMW).
Project description
This is a pilot study that will examine the reporting of non-inferiority trials. The project will assess study protocols submitted to the Ethics Committees in Bern, Geneva and Leiden and articles published in medical journals. The research assistant will assist in the identification and data extraction of eligible study protocols and publications in Bern. The project leaders are Prof. Matthias Egger and Myriam Cevallos.
Tasks
• To assess study protocols of non-inferiority trials at the archive of the Ethics Committee in Bern
• To conduct literature searches in Medline and Embase (Ovid platform)
• To extract key data items form protocols and publications
• To contribute to the writing up the resulting publication Profile
• Background in epidemiology, biomedicine, social sciences or related field (applications from students are welcome)
• Experience in conducting literature searches and basic knowledge on clinical research principles
• Good written and spoken English
• Good teamwork and time management skills
The appointment is available immediately and the salary rates of the University of Bern apply. The duration of employment will correspond to 3 months full-time equivalent.
