The VIA Programme awards approximately 25 positions per year. VIAs are intended for recent graduates from university or higher technical institutes,
or university postgraduates who want to work in a research group. This programme is aimed at candidates specializing in applied science, computing, engineering, or administration (HR, finance, law, etc.). Currently available project descriptions can be found here. VIA contracts are granted for one year initially and are normally extended for a second year.

Eligibility Conditions
You are a European Union national or European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein).
You are between 18 and 28 years old included.
You studied in the field of applied science, computing, engineering, or administration and you hold a university degree (BSc level or above) or a technical engineer qualification (or are about to graduate).
You have between 0 and 5 years of relevant experience (after your diploma).
Candidates who are currently preparing a diploma are eligible to apply. However, they are expected to have obtained their qualification by the time they take up their appointment at CERN.

What We Offer
Financial conditions: VIAs receive a monthly subsistence of 4’128 Chf.
Leave: VIAs are entitled to 2.5 days paid leave per month.
Insurance: VIAs are covered by a French Insurance company (Cabinet Labalette, Paris).
Selection Procedure
All applications to the VIA programme are considered by the VIA Programme Coordinators during the month of May. Successful applicants are expected to take up their appointments in September/October.
