Three Sloane-Robinson Awards at Keble College, Oxford, UK

Keble College proposes to elect a number of graduate scholars to come into residence in October 2011. These scholarships will be awarded solely on the grounds of outstanding academic merit, and continuing tenure will be subject to satisfactory supervisors’ reports.

Unless stated otherwise, scholarships are open to Graduates who intend to begin a new course of full-time study, during the academic year 2011-12 for any of the following degrees: DPhil, MPhil, MLitt, MSc by research, and those studying for a MSt or MSc in Research Methods which is an integral part of a research programme (ie only those where an applicant would be registered as a DPhil/MLitt Student).  Students applying for other graduate degrees are not eligible to apply. Please note: These restrictions do not apply to those applying for the Ian Tucker Scholarship which does however have other specific criteria.

Unless stated otherwise, scholarships are offered to award holders for up to three years coterminous with University fee liability.  Annual renewal of scholarships is in all cases subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Three Sloane-Robinson Awards

Duration: For up to three years, coterminous with fee liability

Value: Three awards to the value of £5,000 each, and entitlement to College accommodation in the first year (at the prevailing rates).

Remarks: Preference given to applicants from developing countries.

One De Breyne Award

Duration: For up to three years, coterminous with fee liability

Value:  One award to the value of £5,000 and entitlement to College accommodation in the first year (at the prevailing rates).

Remarks: Preference given to those in Medical Sciences

One Alexander Thatte/De Breyne Studentship

Duration:For up to three years, coterminous with fee liability

Value: One studentship with a tax-free stipend of £17,400 per annum (the De Breyne scholarship is included in this stipend)Entitlement to College accommodation in the first year(at prevailing rates)

Remarks: Preference will be given to graduates with a Biochemistry or Biology Degree with molecular and cellular biology content.

One Ian Palmer Scholarship

Duration:For up to three years, coterminous with fee liability

Value:  One award to the value of the College Fee (Approx £2,000) and entitlement   to College accommodation in the first year (at the prevailing rates).

Remarks: Restricted to applicants in Computer Science or related areas.

How to apply: Via the application form

Closing Date: Friday 21st January 2011.

Ian Tucker Memorial Bursary

Duration:   One year only

Value:   Up to a total of £6,000 for one or more awards.

Remarks:   For students demonstrating sporting prowess principally in the field of rugby   football, in addition to strong academic ability.
