Curtin Humanitarian Fund Scholarship – For Undergraduates – 2011 – Curtin University – Australia
Scholarship Introduction:
The Curtin Humanitarian Fund Scholarship is in accordance with Curtin’s long-standing, formal commitment to Ethics and Social Justice. The Scholarships provide financial support to current or future Curtin coursework students (undergraduate and postgraduate), who have entered Australia under refugee-like conditions and are unable to meet the costs of pursuing Higher Education.Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis depending on individual circumstances.
Eligibility for scholarship:
Applicants must:
1) Be a current or future Curtin coursework student (undergraduate and postgraduate)
2) Future students must already be in Australia
3) Future students must have an offer of a place in a Curtin course (note, any recipient of the Curtin Humanitarian Award must have a letter of offer for a Curtin course before this Scholarship can be awarded)
4) Be from a refugee-like background, or the relative of such a person, who experienced forced migration and may have entered Australia in a number of ways including:
Off-shore approved Refugee or Humanitarian entrant
Onshore, community based Asylum Seeker or refugee
Temporary Protection Visa holder
Family Reunion
