University of Edinburgh invites applicants to submit application for unite foundation student award 2015.A number of Unite Foundation Student Awards (open to students who usually live in England, Wales and Northern Ireland) will be offered to students commencing an undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh in the 2015-2016 academic session.

Eligibility
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of significant financial need, but the University will also take account of other personal or family circumstances which might make it difficult for you to take up a place.
Academic merit is not considered since it is assumed that those who receive an offer of a place have fully demonstrated their ability and potential to benefit from higher education  
Applicants must be:
  • students entering their first year of an undergraduate who usually live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • intending to live in the Unite accommodation at Portsburgh Court in Edinburgh during the duration of their undergraduate degree programme (maximum of 4 years)
  • expecting to receive the full Maintenance Grant (English and Northern Ireland students) OR the full Assembly Learning grant (Welsh students)
  • Applicants also should already have:
  • applied through University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)
  • been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh
  • firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so
  • Accepting the University of Edinburgh as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to this bursary.

Coverage/Scholarship Benefits
Each bursary will cover the full accommodation costs while staying at Portsburgh Court in Edinburgh for the length of their period of study (maximum of four years), as well as provide an annual maintenance allowance of £3,000 per year for a maximum of four years.
