the Department of Law, Queen Mary University of London, is offering PhD Studentship funding to a doctoral student to conduct research into the topic of
State Crime and Resistance: the case of development-induced forced evictions.

Eligibility
- The award is for full time postgraduate PhD research students only.
- Applicants should be aware that the School of Law PhD programme has various entrance requirements which applicants are expected to meet, including, for example, academic performance requirements relating to previously taken taught postgraduate degrees in a law or law-related subject.
- The award is for new applicants looking to enrol at the beginning of the coming academic year, in September 2015. Therefore, existing PhD students who enrolled prior to September are not eligible to apply for the award. For applicants currently on LLM or MA courses, to be eligible to apply for this award your degree course must finish and you must graduate (formally receive confirmation of your final overall mark) prior to September 2015. Therefore current UK LLM students are not eligible for this funding.
- The studentships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The application process for these awards is highly competitive.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview.

Coverage/Scholarship Benefits
The award will cover all tuition fees whether
at the Home/EU rate or the overseas rate. It is therefore open to both UK and
overseas applicants. In addition, the recipient will receive an annual
maintenance grant.
