50th Anniversary PhD Scholarships at Kent University in UK, 2015

Kent University, School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research is offering 50th Anniversary PhD Scholarships for the academic year 2015-2016. The SCHOLARSHIP covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate (£3,996) in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £13,863 per annum (for entry in September/October 2015 only). The deadline for applications is 11 May, 2015.

Eligibility
  • Successful candidates will have obtained a 1st or good 2.1 UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE  in a relevant subject, and ordinarily an MA or MSc at Merit or Distinction level.
  • Applications will only be considered if applicants have secured agreement from a member of staff in their area of interest to supervise them. Only one academic may be approached at a time (multiple simultaneous approaches will result in the application being rejected).
  • Previous applicants (who are currently holding an offer of a place without funding for entry September 2015) may apply in this round, but please ensure that a revised School/50th Anniversary SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION form is submitted. Please contact Kalli Glezakou for further guidance.
  • An IELT score of 7.0 for non-UK students with a minimum of 6.5 in all components, as all PhD scholarship students are expected to have excellent communication skills.
