University of Essex Social Sciences Doctoral Scholarships in UK, 2015-2016
Scholarship Introduction
Successful economic policy requires a solid understanding of the causal
effects of policy interventions. Traditional empirical analysis, however,
provides mainly correlational evidence that does not allow for a causal interpretation.
In the past two decades, experimental economists and econometricians have
developed new tools to identify causal effects. These tools include laboratory
experiments, (quasi-)natural and field experiments, and sophisticated
identification strategies in field studies. Click here for further information about the program
