Fogarty has partnered with the Fulbright Program, the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings for both medical or graduate student fellows

- Fellows
- Applications are open to medical or graduate students.
- Degree requirements, research focus and affiliation vary by country. Please refer to the list of eligible countries for the Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships in Public Health.
- Each applicant can apply to only one (1) country.
- Scholars
- Applications are open to those who have received a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree within the past five years.
- Applicants correspond with the host site and its U.S. partner contacts about their experience and how they could participate with ongoing research projects at the sites.
- A letter of invitation from the host site is required to be submitted with the application.
- Each site is a registered organization in the host country and has a U.S. university as a partner.
- U.S. scholars from any institution can apply.
