The Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) is a partnership founded by The University of Manchester, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK. It brings together the expertise, ambition and resources of its partner organisations in the fields of cancer treatment and clinical research and provides state-of-the-art facilities where researchers and clinicians can work closely together.
The MCRC is offering an outstanding opportunity for oncology research fellows to undertake a 3 year research project that is expected to lead to the award of a PhD.
The title of the projects and the associated supervisors are:
Measuring and modifying intratumoural delivery of temozolomide in glioblastoma using 11C-temozolomide PET
Professor Alan Jackson
Understanding the ETV4/PEA3-controlled transcriptional network in oesophageal cancer cells
Professor Andrew Sharrocks
Fellowships are available to post-registration Clinicians, up to and including Specialist Registrar grade, who wish to undertake a period of full-time training in a cancer relevant field. Successful candidates will hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent.
