PhD Position in Broadband Telemedicine Using Visual Communication at Technical University of Denmark, 2012 Denmark
Project summary
A challenge in the future is to provide efficient health services to an aging population. Telemedicine may provide many benefits in this endeavor. This project shall investigate the benefits of using video applications based on broadband communication systems in telemedicine. Broadband telemedicine may support and enhance interactions both between patients and doctors and between doctors and thus implies heterogeneous network structures. Broadband telemedicine with visual communication is both an application with high technical demands and potentially a beneficial societal impact. The project shall demonstrate some of the potentials and address the challenges for the communication system to facilitate high quality and highly reliable visual telemedicine services.
