Scheme: Miss Hispanic Heritage Month Scholarship Pageant at Texas A&M University, USA
History:
The Miss Hispanic Heritage Month Pageant was started in the Fall of 2007. The brothers of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. felt they needed to find a way to give back to Texas A&M University - Kingsville as well as bring awareness to Hispanic Heritage Month.

Purpose:
The purpose of Miss Hispanic Heritage Month Scholarship Pageant is to award a distinguished female for her outstanding accomplishments within her respective organization, for academic excellence and for her contribution to the Hispanic community.
Requirement:
- GPA of at least 2.5
- Full time undergraduate student at a Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
- Must submit a completed application (there is no application fee) by Wednesday, September 7, 2011.
- The winner will be required to attend a minimum of two Omega Delta Phi community service events during the 2011 Fall semester and two during the 2012 Spring semester.
Selection:
Only 10 contestants will qualify to compete at the actual Pageant. These 10 finalists will be selected by a panel of judges based on the application and will be notified ahead of time if they qualified. The participants’ will be judged based on their response to impromptu questions during the pageant, as well as overall achievements and the completion of the application. Winners will be announced during the closing ceremonies of the Pageant at the MSUB Courtyard on Thursday September 15, 2011.

Awards:
One Grand Prize Scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded. The scholarship is to be used for the spring semester and will be awarded at the end of the fall semester.
Application Deadline:
Applications may be submitted to the Event Planning Office located on the first floor of the MSUB right next to Financial Aid, or given to a brother of the Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 7, 2011.
Time and Place:
The pageant will take place on Thursday September 15, 2011 at 6:00 pm at the MSUB Courtyard.
