The Keith Wightman Scholarship for Undergraduate at UCL University, UK 2011
The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage first year UCL students who show excellence in the sport of Golf to pursue their interest.
UCL normally offers one scholarship each session.
Eligibility RequirementsEligible candidates will:
- be a student from any country;
- have successfully completed the first year of their undergraduate degree studies in any subject at UCL;
- show an excellence in golf, and academic excellence.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and golfing excellence (preference will be given to students with a handicap of 5 or less, and/or category 1 golfers). Financial need will also be taken into consideration.
The scholarship will be awarded by the Council upon the recommendation of a selection panel made up of UCL staff, and appropriate golf and sport officials at the UCL Union (e.g. President of the UCL Union Golf Society and the UCL Union Activities Officer).
Value: Benefits and Duration
The value of the scholarship is £3,500. paid equally over two academic years. The scholarship is tenable for two years only.
Application Procedure and Deadline
Eligible candidates must complete the UCL Keith Wightman Scholarship Application Form, and submit it – along with supporting documents specified in the form – to the UCL Student Funding Office by 31 August during the first year of their programme.
Notification of Results
Successful applicants and reserve candidates can expect to be contacted by UCL in September/October.
