The University offers a range of scholarships for South Korean students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate taught masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2011.
South Korea Sheffield Scholarships 2011
We are pleased to offer the South Korea Sheffield Scholarship 2011 to all South Korean students commencing a Taught Masters programme in September 2011.
The scholarships are:
The scholarships are:
- £1,000 for students studying Nanotechnology courses (jointly run with the University of Leeds)
- £1,500 each for students paying fees between £11,490 – £13,300
- £2,000 each for students paying fees of £13,301 and upwards
Eligibility and Award Criteria:
- You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters programme in September 2010.
- You must be a South Korean national or permanantly domiciled in South Korea.
- You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
- The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
South Korea Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2011 (£6,500)
There is one South Korea Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2011, available for a South Korean student starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2011.
The scholarship is worth £6,500 of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee for one year of study. The scholarship will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
To be eligible for the South Korea Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2011 (£6,500), applicants must be a South Korean national or permanently domiciled in South Korea, apply for a study place by Friday 24 June 2011 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2011. The deadline for applications is Friday 1 July 2011 and results will be announced by Monday 1 August 2011.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships specifically for South Korean students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from South Korea can apply.
