Eligibility:Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or legal residents and be no more than two years post-PhD at the time of application. (Australians who claim residency are also required to have completed their PhD in New Zealand.) Applications are strongly encouraged from New Zealand expatriates: however, the Fellowship cannot be used to support relocation to New Zealand. Applicants will have had at most two previous posts as a postdoctoral researcher.
Scholarship Description: The Rutherford Foundation is a charitable trust set up under the aegis of the Royal Society of New Zealand to provide support for the spectrum of PhD education to post-doctoral research and early career development. Purpose of award The New Zealand Postdoctoral Fellowships are two-year awards for up to two applicants per year who have recently completed their PhD. They will enable recipients to undertake full-time research programmes within New Zealand in any area of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Support for this programme comes from the New Zealand Government.
