The PhD student will participate in the project "Distributed Antenna Systems", which is financed by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. The focus of this PhD project is radio channel properties for distributed MIMO systems. The radio channel ultimately determines the possible performance of such systems and knowledge of its behavior is important for algorithm and system design. The work includes setup of a test site for distributed MIMO channel measurements, planning and performing measurements, and evaluation of the results form a system and channel perspective. Thus, the project includes both theoretical and more practical parts. Since this PhD student project is a part of a larger project it also means substantial interaction with other project participants working on theoretical aspects of distributed MIMO systems and on algorithms and hardware aspects. The position is full-time, and includes 15% department work, mainly teaching.
