A PhD position and research assistant position are open for a talented, self-motivated, team-spirited, young researcher who has recently completed an MEng or MSc degree. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working with Profs. T. Szkopek and M. Cerruti (Materials Engineering, McGill University) on graphene-nanocomposites for Li-ion batteries. An emphasis on optimization of conductivity versus surface functionalization Required knowledge includes:
- electrochemistry
- nanoparticle synthesis
- analytical techniques
- Li-ion batteries
- basic graphene properties
PhD Position in Microwave Graphene Electronics
A PhD student position for a high-performing, self-motivated and team-spirited young researcher is open for a project on graphene microwave experiments. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working with Profs. T. Szkopek, M. Siaj (Chemistry, UQAM) and C. Caloz (PolyGrames, Ecole-Polytechnique) on graphene microwave devices. The candidate should have previous experience in the following areas:
- carbon nanotubes, graphene or III-V semiconductors
- principles of electromagnetics
- microwave technology
- microfabrication
Only candidates with outstanding records and several publications/conference talks will be considered.
