Eligibility:-All PhD students and Post-Docs will be expected to be independent and highly motivated researchers.
-Post-Docs :-Post-Doc applicants must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) and a proven ability to conduct excellent scientific research in VSAP-related areas, as evidenced by their publications. PhD Students .
-PhD applicants must be UAE nationals, and will be required to meet the admission requirements of the host university.
-PhD applicants to be registered at KUSTAR must have a Master degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent (e.g., a minimum of 60% in a UK-style Master by taught courses or a Pass in a Master by Research / M.Phil.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer science, IT, or other relevant specializations. Candidates must have achieved a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79 or an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 or their equivalent.
-PhD applicants to be registered at UoB must have as a minimum a 2:1 honours Bachelor degree or equivalent (e.g. a Bachelor degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0) in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Physics.
-Candidates must have achieved an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and Listening and 6.0 in Speaking and Reading.
-Exemptions may be granted to students where there is clear alternative evidence of an acceptable standard of English.

Scholarship Description: In collaboration with the University of Bristol (UoB), UK (http://www.bris.ac.uk/), Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR), UAE (http://www.kustar.ac.ae/), is establishing a new Research Centre in Visual Signal Analysis and Processing (VSAP). VSAP will address both sector and regional needs and is now recruiting its first intake of researchers to commence in September/October 2011.Highly competitive, tax free, salary and benefits will be offered to the right candidates. PhD students (UAE nationals) will be employees of KUSTAR and will therefore be registered on the Abu-Dhabi Pension Fund.
