Scholarship Description: We invite applications for a researcher in Earth Sciences to work on a NERC-funded consortium ‘Using Inter-Glacials to Assess Future Sea-Level Scenarios (iGlass)’, consisting of seven institutes, three non-academic partners and four overseas academic partners and advisors. The consortium will study the response of ice volume/sea level to different climate states during the last five inter-glacials, which include periods with significantly higher sea level than the present. As a researcher in the iGlass consortium, you will combine observations of past sea levels and estimates of ice sheet variations with solid earth modelling to develop an integrated understanding of the total sea-level change during these periods and the relative contributions from the Greenland and (West) Antarctic ice sheets. You should possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline and be an experienced researcher with strong programming and statistical skills.
