Go Global Community Development Scholarship 2012 Curtin University, Australia

Description: Go Global Community Development Scholarships are available to students who are able to demonstrate a commitment to community development that will further the vision and objectives of one of the Go Global host sites. Twenty-six scholarships are available.

The Scholarship will be a one off cash payment of $2000 to assist with costs associated with participating in the Go Global program.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for a Go Global Community Development Scholarship:

  • Be enrolled part time or full time at Curtin University




  • Have a status of Good Standing




  • Have a Course Weighted Average of 60.00 or more




  • Be completing the penultimate undergraduate year or first postgraduate year of study




  • Be enrolled in one of the following specified courses by coursework (not a Master or PhD by research program):




  • 1.   Occupational Therapy
    2.   Physiotherapy
    3.   Speech Pathology
    4.   Nursing and Midwifery
    5.   Pharmacy
    6.   Health Promotion
    7.   Social Work
    8.   Nutrition/Dietetics
    9.   Oral Health Therapy
    Applicable to: Study Abroad
    Current Students
    Nationality: All Nationalities
    Maximum number awarded: 26

    Criteria: Successful applicants will have to demonstrate the following selection criteria:

  • A strong commitment to and an understanding of community development; capacity building and sustainable development.




  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of others




  • An understanding of the challenges in working in a diverse cross-cultural and/or a resource poor environment




  • Able to work as a team and in an interprofessional setting




  • Able to plan, manage and implement a project, either independently or as a team




  • Confidence in problem solving and being able to be flexible and adaptable to challenging situations
